Why I am committed to a young universe/Earth
In a nutshell, my journey from Old to Young Creationism really was shaped by the realization that my first loyalty in terms of epistemology (how I know what I know) was to the Scriptures and that I was bringing the scientific consensus, which is dominated by material naturalism, to my understanding of origins and the observable universe.
I went through many twists and turns to reconcile the Bible to the consensus before I realized that material naturalism has no way to account for a supra-natural, immaterial God acting on His Creation and that it is not His requirement to fit everything we observe into a tidy naturalistic framework. His normative will is that the universe act within the laws He has established, but He is in no way bound to act within them, according to His good pleasure.
That made me more and more begin to question my presuppositions and areas that I was capitulating. It was through this self-discovery and criticism that I began to "take every thought captive" and shift my framework from OEC to YEC.
That being said, I have to give a shout out to Dr Jonathan D. Sarfati

Why I am an oddXian...
A real Christian is an odd number, anyway.
He feels supreme love for One whom he has never seen;talks familiarly everyday to someone he cannot see;expects to go to heaven on the virtue of another;empties himself in order to be full;admits he is wrong so he can be declared right;goes down in order to get up;is strongest when he is weakest;richest when he is poorest;happiest when he feels the worst. He dies so he can live;forsakes in order to have;gives away so he can keep;sees the invisible;hears the inaudible;and knows that which passeth knowledge.
—A. W. Tozer, The Root of the Righteous (Harrisburg, PA: Christian Publications, 1955), 156.

The answer to those challenging absolute certainty about the God of Christianity
No one has an excuse not to be absolutely certain about the God of Christianity:
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools... (Romans 1:20-22 ESV)

Devotions for the religion of Scientism
Found here
From Wikipedia:
- Scientism is belief in the universal applicability of the scientific method and approach, and the view that empirical science constitutes the most authoritative worldview or most valuable part of human learning to the exclusion of other viewpoints.
25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

For those professing Christians that call good what God calls evil - let me help set your expectations
If you fall into this camp you can expect 1 of 3 things:
1. You are not one of His people and will be allowed to continue to condemn yourself according to your works, even as you profess Christ.
Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you;depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
2. You are one of His people and He will discipline you to bring you back into alignment.
Revelation 3:19 (ESV) - Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
3. You are one of His people and He will remove you.
1 John 5:16 (ESV) - If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death - I do not say that one should pray for that.

When your skeptical friends (or otherwise) ask you about a talking snake, donkey or other miraculous events in Scripture
It is crucial not to capitulate the fact that God is supra-natural and is not bound to the laws of nature, since He is the author of those laws and is ruler over them. He has the right to subject them to His will for His purposes.

Repost: Can Quantum Mechanics Produce a Universe from Nothing?
"The fact is, the idea that such an event could happen is pure speculation and conjecture. No such phenomenon—the conversion from energy to matter of an entire Universe—has ever been remotely observed. It is a desperate attempt to hold to naturalistic presuppositions, in spite of the evidence, when a supernatural option that is in keeping with the evidence is staring us in the face."

Have we entered into a new age of resistance?
...consider that the "Supreme Court has now, in constitutional doctrine, said that homosexuality is equivalent to race. The next goal of activists will be a long-term campaign to remove tax-exempt status [and deny accreditation] from dissenting religious institutions." (Rod Dreher)

on judging others
This meme is more about judging the ultimate disposition of others, but I think it also speaks to the measure that we *can* use to judge other's actions as well as warning in terms of the focus of ultimate judgement.
When Christ is in the center of our eye, His righteousness removes the "plank" and allows us to see and judge rightly.
